Oct 2019 Virtual Reality walkthrough of the ‘A Strange Weave of Space and Time’ exhibition installed at Site Gallery, Sheffield. This project was premiered at the University of Lincoln for an exhibition by Jeanine Griffin, a freelance curator and researcher.The exhibition and research project explores the notions of aura & authenticity in the post-digital context. My VR walk through includes embedded interactive video and high resolution imagery to bring people closer to the objects and using projection to immerse the user into the space, giving them a realistic experience of being in the Site Gallery exhibition.
This is a photograph taken from the exhibition in Lincoln University Gallery of a visitor viewing my project using a trackpad to navigate them round the virtual tour. The Projection helps the viewer to become immersed into the tour, creating the experience of being there in a gallery space.
The tour features very high quality imagery so that the objects in the space can be viewed very close up so that the user can see the clarity and detail of the object without any pixelation.
The user starts off at the main entrance to the gallery, they are then allowed to explore the space in any direction they wish. In order for the user to identify the main location points, I have used orange location pins for users to click on and be transported.
